Mapping lithology, hydrothermal alteration, and Fe mineralization using satellite data in the Champeh salt dome, South of Iran

چکیده

Champeh salt dome is located 30 km northwest of Bandar Lengeh, east Hormozgan province, Iran. Iron ores and several alterations can be found in this dome, which consists evaporitic volcanic sequences the Hormoz series Pabdeh-Jahrom, Asmari, Gachsaran, Mishan formations. The existing geological maps do not provide comprehensive details mineralization, alteration, various lithologies dome. Therefore, separation detection these phenomena, by using ASTER (advanced spaceborne thermal emission reflection radiometer) OLI (operational land imager) satellite images utilizing different image processing methods helpful to locate them produce a lithological map area. used study are band ratio, false-color combination, principal component analysis, independent minimum noise fraction, spectral angle mapping, linear unmixing. Due vast number domes south southwest Iran, similarity terms mineralogy lithology, results useful future exploratory studies for similar world.
